Playing in the rain truly requires the golfer to properly prepare and adjust their mental attitude. I like playing in the rain while a lot of golfers don’t. I feel that gives me a couple shots before we even tee off.

Much rather play in the wind. Short fat guys don’t do well when we’re wet lol.
  3. I definitely prefer the rain, as long as it isn’t an absolute down pour. I feel like I’m on my best game in the rain cause I don’t take the time to get stuck on swing thoughts. And the club just glides through the wet grass and makes divots so much cleaner

Great question. I’ll take rain over wind. I don’t mind it and think it can actually be fun. As long as you have proper rain gear and a stadry golf bag, it’s all good. I live on an island so I play most rounds with significant wind. It’s far more damaging on your score. Wind also makes it way more difficult to figure out proper distances.

I had much rather play in wind. I am not a mudder.

At one point point I would play in any weather and be happy. Age has changed that. Although I can't say I'm a fan of playing in rain or wind, I will venture out on a windy day. Being able to adapt and have a good round on an unusually windy day is rewarding. Rain is a deal breaker for me these days. Being retired I'd rather wait for better conditions.

As you know Mike, we just played in both at the Team Titleist International in St. Andrews Scotland. If there is any place that playing in wind and rain is okay, that’s the place. Had a great time.

Friday's round at Dumbarnie was an extreme version of howling wind and sideways rain, however, you know it's a great day if you're still smiling through it all! What an awesome week with TT in Scotland!

My home course is a links so I am quite use to the wind, although this weekend just gone was a bit rougher than normal, but rain is becoming an issue for me as I get older. I won't go out if it's pouring before I start, I hate getting wet (and cold), and the drying routine after is a real pain. Windy conditions over rain for me, every time.

Windy is better. Cart girls disappear during rain.

Have to go with wind. I have a problem with the club slipping in my hands when it is wet out.

Wind. I hit the ball pretty low, so wind doesn't affect my ball flight as much as others.

Depends really. Is it just misting or are we talking downpour? Because wind is the hardest element to play in IMO. You can combat rain, but you can't control wind. Now combine them together ... forget it.
  17. Wind. Hate trying to keep everything dry and I wear glasses, which really sucks trying to see when they're wet.

Nothing wrong with either but I play a little better in rainy conditions. Anytime any weather is a good day for golf.

Might be a mental thing, but I seemingly play better in rain than on windy days

Wind for sure. I don’t mind playing in rain, but trying to keep my grips dry would be a chore.
