Received my little bag in the post this morning - 2 sleeves of balls, one with red numbers , one with black numbers. Looking forward to getting out on the course to put these through their paces. A big thanks to Titleist for giving us consumers the chance to test new products.

Thank you for opportunity to test the prototype, but sadly due to the weather, still waiting to try them out properly!

Hi, I received 6 prototype balls this morning in the post, marked 'test' so I do not actually know what they are in terms off model.
I took them out today and played 18 holes. First impressions were that they felt very nice off the putter, a softer feel with less noise than the PRO V1X I currently play.
They feel nice off the driver with good distance, they feel a little firm off my short irons and definitely did not grip or check on short chip and pitch shots. They did spin on full wedge and short iron shots.
I noticed no difference in flight to my existing PRO V1X.
They did not scuff up at all, so good durability.
In summary, felt really nice off the putter, no noticeable difference in distance or flight to my PRO V1X, felt a little firm off short and mid irons, did not spin as much as I would like on chips and pitches.

I found both balls to be very good on the course and playing with them was very easy. Distance wise I would find the red one's to be more effective on average but the blacks around the green. If I were to choose I would pick red for the distance but it also has good bite on the green. Either ball depends on which type of player you are. These prototypes give me great hope for much to come in the future. I will continue to use Titleist religiously on the course.

Thanks for the test balls. Played this morning with one of them, black numbered. Don't know if this was just in my head but seemed to go further with good centre hits. Added about 20 yards to a couple of drives. Good feel and spin on the green from full wedges. Felt soft off the putter face and needed a little more to get the ball to the hole.
Seemed a good ball for my game and I look forward to using this ball again. Thanks for the chance to test.
steve ckent,
Bryan SBirmingham,
Received Test Balls yesterday 16/11/13. Used today and very pleased with my round. Played in a team stableford and if had been in an individual comp would be better than my handicap. Pleased with the distance and feel of the ball used. Used the test ball with number in black. Now have several winter league games to play and look forward to testing the new balls over a longer period.
Thanks for the opportunity to test out balls for Titleist.
Played a winter league game with one of the new balls over the weekend. My initial thoughts are the ball seemed to offer more distance off the tee particularly with driver where I felt this added some 20 yards to my normal shot. Strikes from the sweet spot of my 712 AP2 irons felt very solid with good feedback from the club and distance.
Wedge shots offered good stopping spin on the greens and with soft wet greens and a good feel allowed me to attack some pins I would normally not have a go at.
Because the ball offered a softer feel than my normal Pro V1x, along with slow running greens it took a while to get used to distance control with putter.
The ball looked in good condition following 18 holes of golf.
My only negative point would be, I use the <test> logo on the ball for alignment at putts. I would like to see the logo or line longer to assist alignment further. So when looking down on the ball you can see a clear line which can be lined up with the centre line on putter.
All in all my initial impressions were very positive and I would certainly be interested to know what ball I tested and when these balls are available to purchase.

Dear David.
Many thanks foor asking me to participate
Tried the ball for the 1st time yeserday. Felt very solid off the club, as if the ball was really compressing on impact. I felt that it was low spin as the ball flight was really straight off both the drive's and fairway woods, I was really suprised how well it flew. the sound was a deep thump which was pleasing
The drive flight was not that high and there was little movement of the ball in the flight. sometimes with the srxn I get a waver in the 1st 1/3 of the ball flight. The test ball was really straight
Distance, maybe 5-10 yards more than I get normally, but no more,( drive is about 210 carry) this was against players (10 - 19 Hc) whom Ive been playing with each week, so the guage was reasonable
Chipping around the green the feel was soft and felt good, got no rattle at all through the club. I'd say it was better than the srxn green I play with.( My strong point is chipping)
On putting the ball again felt soft and came off the head with a nice clunk on the long putts.
After 18 holes the ball may be good for only 1/2 or 1 round more as it has started to scuff up. I will use the same next week to see how it turns out, If I've still got them do you want them back?
Tried at the odd time to shape it R-L and found that difficult, I've had more chance with the srxn I'd been using, but will try again next week. as I was having a good round
On reflection I am really pleased with the ball though, through all the aspects from tee to green
Shot my best score ever at Bondhay GC, an 84 off 19 Hc, won the club medal on Sunday with its 1st outing so you can chalk that one up to Titliest.

Ps dropped it in the lake on the 18th and had to retrieve it, can you make them float next time!!!!

First off I would like to thank Titleist for for the opportunity to test their potentially upcoming products! I do not know of any other oem that does this and I think it is fantastic. My ball over the summer months is generally the Prov1X but with the super cold winter months the one morning a week I do play is always a harder ball which happens to be at the moment DT SoLo which I am really enjoying!
On to the test balls, I can only assume what I have received is the NXT Tour S & NXT Tour which is a ball I have played in past winter months. I started off with NXT Tour S and did notice a slight increase in spin and a tad softer feel but overall the ball played almost similar to the DT SoLo until I reached the green side of things, I enjoyed the Tour S off the face of the putter and generally felt a bit nicer off my wedges. I pulled out one of the NXT Tour balls and noticed a touch of extra distance off the tee, the ball came off my driver feeling solid, yet still soft feeling if that makes any sense! I preferred iron shots with the NXT Tour over the S, something just felt right to me when hit flush....I also noticed almost identical results around the green....perhaps the S was a tad softer off the face of the putter but that may have been in my head. All & all if i could game one of the two it would be the NXT Tour and if money was not the issue it would replace the already fantastic DT SoLo for my winter golf...would it replace my ProV1X in the summer? That I am not so sure about, hope my feedback was of some use and thanks again for the opportunity!

Hi thanks for the opportunity to test the balls.
I currently play off 24. I preferred the red number balls. although I have to admit there wasn't a massive amount of difference. I noticed no distance gains or losses from any other balls I use. I did get the odd shot to stop dead on the greens however lots of balls would have stopped on the greens as they are soft at the moment.
I found the durability very good one ball hit a tree and bounced along a cart path and survived with only minor scratches. I didnt get the feeling that these are premium balls and they sounded very "solid" of all clubs but quite soft off the putter. I found it easy to judge distance of the putter after only a couple of practice puts. That said putting is probably the best part of my game.
I feel that this would be an OK winter ball but like I said if the ball is released I dont think I would be able to tell whether it is the red or black version.
Hope this helps and thanks for the opportunity.

Thank you for the test balls,
I used my first one today at Porters Park near Radlett Herts.
The conditions were fairly cold about 8/9 degrees but no wind really to speak of and it remained dry
The course was fairly soft underfoot so did not get much roll as to be expected.
I have been using a competitor ball for the last two years as I feel this is best suited to my swing speed and have been getting consistent good distance.
I found your test ball compared favorably ,
distance was roughly the same as I know my yardages pretty accurately thanks to GPS etc
Balls were stopping very quickly on the greens usually within a yard of their pitch mark (course fairly soft as said before).
I managed to play the whole round with the one ball and it is still in very good condition without a mark on it.
I am a 16 handicap and in these conditions my 7 iron carries 145 yards.
In conclusion on first impression this was a good ball for me and compared favorably with my tried and trusted competitor ball.

Hi David
Returned home from work to find two sleeves of Test Golf Balls, no ball identification markings. All golf balls are white, first sleeve have a black 1 and the second sleeve has a red 1 with each golf ball having TEST stamped on them.
I hope to test them this week, will leave feedback after that. No guideline on what type of feedback / testing required, or time frame for testing.
However, if time does not allow this week for testing is their time restrictions ?

First and foremost a big thank you very much for the test balls.
I have to say i'm playing in comps for the next tree weeks so will be unable to trial the balls on the course until I've finished all of these matches. Below I have listed my initial impression.
Out of the box both balls feel and look quality which is nothing less than I would have come to expect from a Titleist ball.
The only chance I have had is some putting practice at home, I have to say my feeling is that I much prefer the ball with the black numbering. This ball feels much more solid and slightly softer off the putter face and for me that is the feeling I prefer. Even on miss hit putts I feel I am getting a good true roll on both balls however the feel of the red balls is slightly more clicky and does not feel as soft as the black ball.
I look forward to having the opportunity to use these balls on the course in the near future and will list my feedback on this later.

Recieved my 2 boxes of test balls on the weekend. Managed to get out and give them a try on monday afternoon. As you would expect from titleist both balls performed brilliantly. I found the red ball slightly harder which gave a slight distance advantage over the black ball, but prefered the softer fell of the black ball on and around the greens.
