Got my test balls yesterday and tried a few today. They felt nice off the driver and the putter and I would say I got a little bit extra spin from the wedges. They were also quite durable but I didn't notice to much difference from the excellent Pro V1
Would like to thank the number 1 golf brand that is Titleist for giving me the opportunity to try out these balks
Cheers

Thanks for the two sleeves of balls.I will try them out this weekend & get back to you.
Many thanks for the opportunity to try out the 2 lots of test balls.
I found the configuration of the dimples very interesting, and the ones with the red numbers suited my game the best.(I hope
that they come onto the market)

Thanks TT. Came home today to a welcome surprise package with 2 sleeves of "Test" balls. I assume the fact 1 sleeve has red numbers and the other has black is indicative of subtle differences so my personal challenge is not only to check them out against my normal NXT's but to try and spot the differences. Thanks for the opportunity to contribute, just 1 of the reasons I will stick to my favourite brand, your customers matter to you and you demonstrate that.
my critique on the balls to follow in a couple of weeks.

Got my balls, but haven't played them yet, as I've been playing qualifiers.
i assumed these were non-confirming balls so didn't think they would be appropriate for medal play .... judging by some comments I think I'm either wrong in my assumption, or in the minority in thinking that I should play by the rules.

Greetings,
Arrived home to find an early Christmas Present from Titleist in the form of 2 sleeves of test balls.
Apart from the brand name, the only difference is in the colouring of the ball numbers (one lot in red and one lot in black) as there's no identification as to model/type etc ;-)
Looking forward to giving them a good smashing about on the course next time out :-) ... and let's see how they perform.
Will report back in due course. Thanks again for the opportunity to participate in genuine product development as the vast majority of players of this great game are just like me, amateurs ... and NOT pros LOL

David, Thank you for giving me the opportunity participate in your test program, to date i have managed a total of 45 holes using the red numbered ball, black to follow this coming weekend weather permitting.
Our course conditions are not at there best with extremely wet fairways and soft greens, I have two different drivers and have used both, distance of the tee seems to be about my normal length but with a straighter flight.
It has been in the performance around the green that i have noticed the most, with short irons into the green holding with in a couple of club lengths of their landing and chipping from the fringes quickly biting, therefore giving more confidence to go for the flag,
Off the putter the ball feels superb, judging the length putts was very good even if my direction could do with some attention.
Overall i thought the ball had very good performance, it was only after completing 45 holes that its appearance began to look a little tired, looking forward to trying the black numbered ball.
Will we be able in the future to find out which model of ball we have tested so as to know which to purchase when and if released.
Once again thank you for the chance to take part in testing.

Today 21st Nov 2013. Received 2 sleeves of TEST balls 1 sleeve with red number markings and the other with black number markings. Will use this Saturday 23rd Nov and try to give you my considered feedback. Thank you for including me in this test I appriciate what you are doing with this test and congratulate you with your forsight to include medium handicap amateurs.
Tested both balls over the weekend. Course conditions fairways soft not much run greens soft and holding.
Started my round with my normal ball Titleist SoLo to give me a starting point. Seventh tee used the black numbered ball and found it very good of the driver face straight not much wind effect hardly any run fairway soft. Mid and short irons into green felt good off face and had a higher flight trajectory stopped after average 2 feet. Chipping felt good and putting rolled very well nice soft feel of putter face.
Thirteenth tee used the red numbered ball seemed to be a little harder/firmer of the face on all my clubs so final feeling I enjoyed the black numbered ball better than the red and would probably use this when and if it is made available providing I knew which one it was.
Thank you for the opportunity to be included in this test, great marketing Titleist.

Received my little bag in the post this morning - 2 sleeves of balls, one with red numbers , one with black numbers.
Looking forward to getting out on the course to put these through their paces. A big thanks to Titleist for giving us mere mortals the chance to test these new products.
Michael ALondon,
Many thanks for the two sleeves of test balls...
In fact today tested the new PRO V1 and PRO V1X rather than play the normal DT Solo... Definitely preferred the PRO V1 for feel and overall performance! Managed to go round in 82 vs an average of 85 that I am playing at the moment!
Will put the test balls to use tomorrow, Sunday and provide feedback!

Just played a round with a Red No. 1 Test Ball today. No long club distance improvement against other balls that I use, but I felt the ball flew straighter with the longer clubs which gave me confidence on the tee. A pure strike with shorter irons and the ball seemed to fizz off the club face, giving 5 - 10 yards extra carry. This gave me some worry early in the round as I thought it may be a little firm for good short game play, but was nicely pleased that it gave a soft feel on chip shots, checked up fine and I didn't have to be negative and allow extra roll out against a ball that I would normally use.
Will try the Black No.'s next week and let you know.

Many thanks for the balls which arrived yesterday. Tried both this morning and didn't notice much difference off the tee or with longer irons or hybrids, although the red felt a bit firmer.
Liked the feel of the black with chipping and putting.
Have a couple of rounds due next week and will continue to test!
thanks once again

Hi, first off all, thanks for the two sets of balls, very kind.
There is a noticeable difference in the outer casing, I use a vokey 56 allot and no cuts or marks to either ball.
the black numbered ball, off the face, very straight and seamed to carry 10 yds further. Off the putter, nice sound and feel.
The red numbered ball, constantly good off the face with the iron, very similar to the NXT I use in the winter.
I would go out and purchase these once / if they become available.
Regards
andy.

Just received the 2 prototype ball sleeves. Thanks very much Titleist.

Cheers.

Played a few holes with the Test balls, they flow straight and very responsive around the green and when putting. I liked the feel hard to judge the spin around the greens as the greens and fairways were very soft. I really liked the feel just as much as my usual ball the NXT.

Great surprise to see what the posty brought this morning. Thank you for the sleeves of balls to test.
Our course is really wet at the moment but hope to get out on Sunday to give them a try. As long as there is no time limit would also like to wait til we get a dry week to see how they fly.

Thank you Titleist for the opportunity to try your test balls where it matters on the course. The next few weeks should be interesting.

hi received 6 prototype balls 3 black 3 red, distance difficult to judge at moment as winter conditions , but they both seemed to have good distance and felt good off the club, the black, seemed to be better around the greens i seemed to have more control. and softer impact with putter
Are these balls ok for competition play?
I haven't used them yet as still playing qualifiers, but notice some people playing competitions with them. Surely they are not valid for competiton play as they won't be on the list of balls that are accepted for play.
Thanks for the question. You are right that these cannot be used in competitions as they are prototypes. Look forward to hearing what you thought of them on Team Titleist.
Regards,
Played nine holes with each ball today, plus a long session on the putting green.
black numbers appear to be softer, and much less noticeable click on the putter. Couldn't see any difference in length but certainly felt better than the red numbers off the wedges and putter.
neither ball had any marks that I wouldn't normally expect to see after nine holes ... a little scuff after a bunker shot and a mark or two from a little tree trouble ;) nice to see bright white cover though.
our greens are far too soft to notice spin levels with these balls, not very accurate but the shots with the black numbers seemed to have stopped quicker today (can't be 100% sure of this as I never hit any side by side shots)
i will report back again after another round to see if the change in weather makes any difference. Will hopefully have a couple spare when the greens dry up a little to give a proper comparison.

Received the 2 sleeves of balls
found it to be excellent off the putter face and easy to get rolling on the greens
found full shots into greens checked up quickly on the soft greens
Ball did not cut up and was very durable
did not notice any extra distance off the tee
but a good ball I would be happy to use
let me know what it is

Received my two sleeves the other day and tried the "black" ones for the first time. Overall impression is good, the flight was nice and true and was getting good distance from the tee. Around the green they felt nice and soft.

Tested the balls today,
They feel great from the tee giving control and distance giving from my normal ball.
Feel great with all irons and where solid when chipping and pitching given quality feel.
Comes off the putter head lovely with great roll even on uneven winter greens.
Would reccommend these balls.
