I received my package containing 6 balls in the post, and after trying both black and red versions, I preferred the ref numbered version as this felt softer off the putter face, and also gave good greenside control coupled with a straight ball flight from the driver. The black version felt a little firmer and not quite as good as the red version. I would definately use the red version when available.

Played with them today and they are great. Well, either they were or I played well !
They felt soft off the clubface and went at least 20 yards farther than I usually get with my NXTs. Good feel with pitching and nice and soft off the putter.
Looking forward to hearing what ball they are.
Thanks to TT for letting me try them. I suspect they may be the ball I shall play with when they are released.

Played with a test ball with the black number today but I can't really give too much feedback as I didn't do a back to back comparison with another ball.
However the ball did feel very nice off both the putter and the woods. It flew very straight and seemed to be quite low spinning off the tee. Around the green the ball didn't feel hard at all but it didn't spin a massive amount.
would be interested to know what ball it is as I would potentially consider playing with it providing it performed the same in the summer.

Played with the test ball on Saturday, nice day but cold. Ball went strait and a reasonable distance (not as far as a ProV more like an NXT or in between). The feel on the putter was excellent. My only thing I didn't like about them is that they feel "heavy" on the club face when driving. Will give them another go this week though.

Thank you so much for the test balls;so far limited results but felt that the red was livelier off the the putter face though both balls feel soft off putter wedges ;irons and woods with good distance control. Will keep testing as weather allows --thank you again.
kind regards

Only used the black number balls. Amazing distance with driver.Added 20 yards on perfect strike. Poor spin on green. chip shots very little check.

Tried the Number 1 balls this weekend and one thing I did find out was.............they don't float, so first ball lasted 2 shots! Normally, the ball would have ended up short of the water, so I'm getting 5 to 8 yards of extra play already!!
Second ball lasted longer and I found it responded well, carried well - considering the weather and courses at the moment. It also sounded better on the putter - no reason, it just did.
Will try the number 2 this weekend and hope they float.............or I'm going to have to re-consdier my shot lengths!!

Thank you for sending the test balls, I tried the red numbered ball yesterday round my course. I found it was great for distance good control when chipping onto the greens. They felt nice off the putter face overall very impressed for a first round with them and given the current temperatures and conditions.

Tried the new 'test' ball today - used the one with the red number on it.
It was very good. felt better than the NXT Tour I normally use.
Good distance, felt good off the club face of both woods and irons.
Not much damage on the ball at the end of the round either!
Would love to know what type of ball it is as I would be very interested in using them all the time.

Hi
Tried the golf balls over the weekend.
Black lettering - Great ball soft of Irons and Driver good ball flight. Felt good of the putter and stopped well on short Irons
Red Lettering - Pleased with performance as above although a little firmer.
Cheers

Hi, Thanks for the chance to give my humble opinion on the trial balls.
Didn't find much difference in either of the balls, if anything the black lettered ball may have given me a few extra yards.
Normally I hit a slight fade, with both balls I seemed to be hitting straighter, maybe I was concentrating a bit harder.
Both balls felt good around the green, maybe the black was slightly firmer.
Both stopped well when hit into the green.
Both balls putted nicely and held their lines, but we do have good greens.
The condition of both after a full round was very good, no scuffs and good for another couple of rounds.
I would certainly use these balls again, as they compare very favourably with the NXT's I normally use and may even be slightly better.
Thank you once again . Cheers Jeff.

Thanks for the balls David!
I have played twice with them now and I prefer the black numbered balls on the green and with chipping. Both black and red are very similar off the tee, the red perhaps slightly "firmer".
Haven't lost any yet, mind you when there is a water hazard on the hole I switch balls!

Please leave all feedback here... Thanks David TT Felt nice of the face of the driver with a good ball flight. Not my best day with the irons but the odd shot went well with half decent control, that was more me than the balls fault. Felt realy good on the greens a pleasure to putt with. Ian.
Please leave all feedback here...
Thanks

Hello, thank you for the two sleeves of test balls. Played 18 holes both Saturday and Sunday. Cold to start with but gradually warmed up. No wind at all so I can't comment on how the ball would have responded. I play of 14.7. I have a natural fade with my driver,3 wood and hybrids. This ball stayed relatively straight and VERY long.Distance is very impressive. Soft of every club, driver to putter. I don't have the ability to spin the ball back on the greens but was pleased with the amount of check and stop of any club ranging from 9 iron to lob wedge. This ball has a lovely feel of the putter and seemed to roll beautifully on line with intended target. I didn't break any course records,,only just managed to play to my handicap, but will say,,I have no idea which Titliest ball it is,it only says TEST on it,but I thoroughly enjoyed playing with this ball. I used one different ball on each day...it didn't mark or scuff, preferred lies so a quick clean and good as new.....this ball does not stray!! I would love to know,,if and when, this ball comes into full production, what exactly,it is. Me thinks it's a new Pro V1. Excellent ball!!!!

Played a round yesterday -ball is similar to NXT series however I have noticed today ball is immaculate not a spot or mark on it which is unusual for me

Tried both balls at weekend. Red ball harder feel. Black ball scuffed up a bit. Ball flight penetrating and response on long shots similar for both balls. Black ball softer around greens, both putt fine.

I received my 2 sleeves of Titleist Test balls. Have been out twice with them now. First time was very cold with a biting wind off the NW. I played full 18 holes on Longhirst Hall Old Course. I gave one of the test balls to club secretary John Smith to try. We were both agreed that the 'feel' off the face using woods, irons and putter was very different but very good. The ball seemed to fly truer and my stars after the round showed only 2 drives to the right. The ball seemed to 'straighten' my drives. The long irons and woods went about 3-7 yards further than I am used to. I tried to replicate each swing at about 80%. When putting the test ball I always got a good roll and it seemed to hold its line even through the deceleration phase. I managed 35 points. The second round was 9 holes on the Longhirst Hall Old Course. Bright sunshine, no wind to speak of. Again the over riding impression was the 'feel' of the test ball off the club faces. My playing partner was impressed by the flight of this ball (as am I) and again the 80% swing produced greater distances, even in the colder conditions of winter/autumn. Putting was again very positive. All told over the 9 holes the stats were strokes:40 FIR 7/9 GIR 5/9 Putts 18. I am much more confident off the tee and expect that my wedges into the green will stop after 1 bounce and the chips will check and then roll out appropriately. Overall impression was better feel, better ball flight, more control of spin around the greens. Thank you TT for letting me test these balls and would love to have follow up after test has taken place as to what other people thought. The most important answer is to be told what Titleist ball it is to be!
