  1. Used it in rather damp, windy and mild conditions, distance was fine - though not outstanding. Did spin a lot when mistruck, had a tendency to float a bit. Well struck balls looked good. Putted well on slow greens, fine around the green.

Tried these new balls on the putting green first and they seemed to be softer than the NXT, very similar to Pro V1's. When driving I seemed to be losing distance and direction, that's probably down to me though !! and it's winter here in the UK so the distance is definitely going to be shorter anyway. Chipping was excellent, nice feel and they pull up fast, again this could be the winter conditions, love to give them a go in the summer !!! Maybe a trip to Southern Spain is required.

I have managed to play 6 rounds or so with these balls in between all the rain.  Normal ball is a Titleist NXT tour which I played at the same time for comparison.  Off the tee I did not notice much difference but with the ground being soft its hard to tell if there was any advantage in run out.  When playing irons I would say the test ball(s) had a slightly softer feel which was much appreciated on the very cold days.  Again it was hard to tell but the test balls did seem to stop a bit quicker and you could fell it running up the groves of the wedges but not shed its skin.

When putting again it has a nice feel on contact which produces a nice roll which helps generate a bit of confidence in that you can stroke rather than need to hit the ball.

Overall as always the Test ball seems to have the edge on the ball I was playing.

For info Driver 913 9.5 degrees, Irons cally x hot pro and wedges Vokey SM with spinner shafts.

  4. Didn't find any difference in them when driving with my usuall NXT TOUR. They did feel nicer off the face of the putter.

However I am a 20 handicapper so I would not be the best judge.

It is always a pleasure when I get a new sleeve of test ball.

The first thing I noticed was the sound and feel off my driver. It felt right. I knew this was a great ball. It is difficult to comment on the distance as the ground has been so wet and heavy lately that nothing goes as far as it could. However, this ball seems to go as far in the cold December days as I expected it to in the late summer. This is going to be a phenomenal ball when the Winter gives way to Spring.

Nice spin from within 130 yards and also from green side where pitch and stop shots bite on the 2nd bounce. Love the feel off the putter.

In conclusion, I especially like the way you can stop a ball whilst keeping it quite low at the same time. Goes quite straight when you want it too but you can really work this ball. Durability is quite good as well. However, in these conditions i have not yet played 36 holes with the same ball without loosing it in the muddy ground. I suspect you will be able to get good mileage out of these in the Spring/Summer.

Love the ball. How do I get on the clubs testing list? :-)

    Goodwick,

    Hi,

Many thanks for the sleeve of balls to test, unfortunately the weather in my part of West Wales has been truly horrendous!

I have yet to get out and play a round let alone be able to write a decent report on the balls ......

However, this will be done, hopefully in the next few days .... the forcast is pretty decent and fingers crossed my local course will be open!

    Paul.

  7. due to weather conditions i have not been able to try out test balls as yet,

  8. Thanks for including me in the ball testing process. I was surprised at how good the test ball plays,it seems to be as long if not longer than the golf balls I play regularly and it stops well on the green. When putting I found it to be soft and so could play it a little harder than normal, resulting in some good putts dropping. I have used the same ball for about five rounds and it has worn well with only minor marks on it. At the same time I have also used other balls and the test ball has given me as good if not better results.

I gave one ball to my wife who is a 36 handicap golfer and she finds the ball to be OK but has not noticed much difference and I also gave one to my main golfing partner who only plays PRO V1's and he has found the ball to be better than he thought it was going to be.

I would be happy to do further testing of Titleist balls or equipment.

  9. Good distance off the tee although winter conditions didn't give a true reflection of how they would perform.

Chipping and putting they had a great soft feel giving confidence.

Played alongside a Bridgestone E6 ball and would pick the titleist every time.

  10. Hannah, Thank you for the test balls

I have used two, one for  11 holes then a Velocity-seemed about the same. the cover was easy to clean ( lots of mu about)

The second ball-18 holes (in a competition) Same ball all the way round.

Ball felt & sounded good off the club Titelist D10 & for a change very straight again no run because of the wet

Getting used to putting now, could be me or the wet conditions,

Not really the best time to test  but I will try to wear the second ball out on Saturday in a winter league comp.

Then still got one to go, I'll let you about that one!

                                Phil.

Hi. Really loved the new test ball you sent. It managed to get through the wind and flew high and long downwind. All round performance was great. Thanks again. Keith

Hi,tried the works well but have keep one to use in warmer weather. Nigel

  13. The balls had a nice soft feel off the putter. It was difficult to gauge green side spin and control due to playing in poor winter conditions. Off the irons and woods it felt solid and had a good penetrating flight. I liked it!

  14. I'm coverted. What a great ball. It's straight off the tee, like a ballistic missile off the fareway but soft and true on the greens.

But what am I converted to? Please tell me and are they available?

    Thank you Barry Probert

Its very difficult to give a full evaluation of this ball as the golf course is very wet, although I can say that the carry distance is slightly longer with the test ball than with a pro v1x. Roll out is difficult to judge because of the soft ground. the same goes for the green too soft to give any useful feed back on stopping power. As for the feel the test ball does have a slightly firmer feel, and seems to "zing" off the club face with a slightly lower ball flight. (I Have a high ball flight) Durability is very good after 27 holes with the ball the only significant mark on the ball was a yellow mark made by a tree after a very errant drive.

    Hi

Balls tested last weekend, when it was mild but very windy.

Solid feel off driver but great distance. Iron shots: balls flew higher than normal, and on the short irons great drop and stop on the greens. In general found these balls great from 120 yards and in....high flight and good stop on the greens.

    thanks

Balls tested on a wet and windy day with very little roll.

Balls felt solid off the driver and had good distance. Fairway irons felt good off the club and had good flight, and on the short irons really good feel. Diificult to judge off putter as greens very wet. In general found these balls had a great feel particually when closer to the greens.

  18. Liked the test balls a lot. They seem to fly slightly lower and with a more penetrating flight than cally chrome softs and they go a little further, maybe 5-10 yards on a 190-210 yard drive  (carry and run).

While they feel soft, there is a nice sound off the driver and irons (on a good strike) but particularly off my putter. I use an old png Anser and I like to hear the "png", not silence.

It has been very wet here in Scotland, so it is difficult to say how they stop on the greens - everything stops fast on really soggy greens, though I managed a sand save when out the bunker the ball really put the brakes on. They run very true when putting and definitely a little further than my usual ball. I think they run slightly further on the fairway also.

I like the dimple pattern and the all-black lettering and numbering. It looks quality.

The only downside is they don't save you from a really bad miss-hit.

The ball flies well and stops on the green. I played on a very windy day with soft fairways, the ball held its line and behaved well. I liked it.

I enjoyed hitting these. Felt great to drive and also felt very reassured with my irons. It's hard to determine the amount of backspin this time of year due to the weather. I would buy these. Thanks for sending me them to test

I found the test balls the following:

They fly well with good height of trajectory (  improves my driving as I normally hit ball low)

They give very good feel off the putter

When chipping, comes of club-face with good feel

They wear well even in wet winter conditions
