Hi
Many thanks for the new test balls - I was really chuffed to be asked to provide some feedback.
I just tried the new ball this morning and was very impressed with it. Conditions were wet under foot and a bit breezy but otherwise good. The ball felt very good off the club face and I certainly was able to generate plenty of spin on approach shots albeit the greens were soft. The spin surprised me as I had the feeling that the ball didn't cut or draw as much as my usual ProV1 i.e. my bad shots were straighter.
Unfortunately, the greens at our course have just been cored so it was difficult to get a real feel for how the ball rolled but again, it felt good off the putter and I had no impression that it came off too hot.
In terms of distance, I thought it was at least as long as the ProV1 and, as noted above, appeared to hold its line slightly better.
I managed to keep it for the full 18 holes and will have no problem teeing it up again tomorrow morning (and that's after being in 3 bunkers which usually results in a new ball being pulled from the bag at the next hole!') Therefore, in terms of durability, I think its again slightly better than the current ProV1.
I will keep using the balls and will provide further feedback if something else comes to light.
Thanks again for the opportunity.

Please leave your feedback in this discussion post. Just back from testing the new prototype test ball and shot 37 points off 4 handicap in our winter turkey trot. From the start it looked great in colour and feel in the hand. It gave me confidence and the first drive exploded off the face giving me good distance on par with my usual Pro v1 maybe just a bit further than normal. The flight was consistant and trajectory out there with the best. It felt a little more solid than a pro v but the results were the same. It gripped on shots into the green, it sounded great off the putter face. The best results were its durability. No scuffs, scratches or cuts, this ball has a lot more rounds in it yet. feel free to send more to test Graeme

First off thanks to you guys at Titleist, it's fantastic you give your customers this opportunity, really a cool experience to get to try new balls.
Tried them today on the course, I noticed a few things.
Firstly, the ball flight is so so good. I usually hit quite low irons and drives naturally, but with the new balls I felt the balls had a higher and penetrating flight without loosing any distance. I didn't need to try to launch it higher, just hit it normal.
Secondly, the spin was much more consistent from iron shots. At my course I hit a lot of mid irons, most of shots with the new balls were landing, then only rolling out about 4 feet from the pitch mark. Usually it's never clear how far my shots will roll out, but it these balls made me almost always certain of how much it would roll out.
Thanks for sending the balls, they were a great surprise to get in the mail, and really great fun to test on the course.

Tried the test balls yesterday in gusty, dry conditions, off the tee the ball I held its line very well and distances were good with woods and irons. When putting the ball again held its line but ran on slightly longer than I normally expected, similarly when chipping around the green the ball would check on the second bounce but then continue to rollout further than expected?

Thanks for the balls to try / test..... I used the first one yesterday in our completion off the back tees, and finished with 39 points and being cut from 5.5 to 5.1! On the first drive I noticed what a great sound it made off the club face, and flew into a strong head wind with a subtle draw. Off my irons into the green I could feel the ball spinning really well and stopped on a sixpence with some with backspin. ...... I know all balls this time of year will stop on soft greens , but these really had more action than my norm!) The feel off the chips around the greens was amazing and I only had tap ins due to the 'grab'.
On the greens it rolled superbly and the feel off the putter face gave lots of confidence going for the hole. All in all I would buy these for sure and it will be great to take some when going to Portugal in March on firm greens!
In closing, I must say I am 62 years old and have played between 3 & 6 since 1987. The new technology in clubs and especially balls like these mean I am possibly playing my best golf now!
Any further testing required please let me know!!! Cheers Bob Dilkes

Apart from a couple of shots (my fault not the balls) I found these balls to be as good if not better than any other balls that I have played with this year.
The balls performed well in the wind and I found the cover to be extremely durable as well.
Assuming that these balls are to be released in the form that I tested I would be definitely interested in playing with them on a regular basis . Thanks for allowing me to test them.

This is the 2nd time of being picked to use the prototype ball so i would like to say a big thank you to team titleist!!
went out last week and play Mar Hall Golf Resort, first day using the ball and felt i could control it alot better. the distance i felt was round about the same as i hit my driver 300/320 depending on conditions.
the spin you get off the balls is very god as always but this model i felt like its alot more how can i put it (softer i.e to make the club get into the ball)
All in all good ball noticed a difference from last time but all positive results!!

Received 3 prototype Titleist balls last week (many thanks by the way).
The cover feels softer than previous Pro V1's (assuming thats what they are?), and the sound off the club face was 'duller' than before.
However they flew straight and went as far as other balls, so no complaints.

I received the sleeve of test balls last week and played with them over 2 rounds (lost 2 on the first round and 1 on the 12th of the second round)
I usually use DT solo
Driving using my 910 D2
I thought that the ball stayed straighter and had a very good trajectory off the tee
Fairway shots using AP1 712 irons
Shorter distance but straighter
Chipping
very good for chipping and controlling around the green seemed to be softer than the DT solo
Putting
Excellent for putting - great feel, I seemed to be able to control the puts much better on both fast and slow greens
All in all I was very pleased with the ball and would probably choose this over my current choice

Tried them out for the first time yesterday and inital feelings were that they were a bit harder and sounded more solid off the clubface.
driving and irons it performed well, there were strong winds but flight was good. Around the green i didnt feel they had as much bite as i am used to.
going to keep trying them out but at the moment they didnt make me want to change away from my current ball.

Thanks for the test pro v balls. I played today with them and have the following feedback
Driver - the ball flight was better than my current pro v 1, and they have a better feel off the club face. I also felt that I'd gained extra yards due to a better flight.
irons - softer feel with a good flight
pitching/chipping - soft feel with good spin/check on the greens
putting - soft and good feel off the face of my Scotty Cameron Newport 2.6
I was fitted for the pro v 1 this summer and play with them all the time. I feel these balls are an improvement and will look forward to playing with them when they become available on general release.

Many thanks for sending me some test balls to try. I received the Pro V1X (Or assume so as that's what I normally play and the number was red)
I have played two rounds with one of the balls so far and by far the most noticeable difference is the durability. The ball is hardly marked at all and still looks great. The ball felt very similar to the previous model off the tee and with irons but it felt slightly harder when putting, which I quite liked actually. The spin was fantastic with short irons and around the greens. This gave me the confidence to really go at the flag when chipping and pitching as I knew the ball would spin and stop.
overall my experience so far has been great. I will update this after a few more rounds if I have anything new to report.
many thanks for including me in the test!

Please leave your feedback in this discussion post. Thanks for the prototype golf balls, I played all three yesterday 1/11/14 and here is my comments. have to say there wasn't anything to complain about these balls, good distance , great around the greens and short game . Putting was a true roll . I would have no hesitation recommending these golf balls to anyone. Thanks for letting me try them. Michael
